Is it possible to start driving a car with a cold engine
The rules for operating a car with an internal combustion engine have changed significantly over the past decade.
The coolant temperature gauge, conveniently located on the dashboard, gives the driver a thick hint when and at what moment the engine can be stressed. The trick is that physics, which no one has yet been able to avoid, prescribes the metal to expand when heated. And the necessary gaps in the filling of the engine are achieved at a certain moment. Then and only then can you safely press on the accelerator pedal.
It is clear that it is not necessary to wait for the “arrival” of the arrow in place in a static position: it has come off, it has reached the bottom mark on the scale – you can smoothly start moving. Until we crawl out of the yards, the car will warm up completely, enter the operating mode. However, this is not always the case: sometimes the motor, for some reason, does not warm up to the desired temperature. As a rule, this happens during the cold season or as a result of malfunctions.
Also, the condition of the coolant and engine oil has a direct effect on engine temperature.
