Elon Musk boasted of successful tests to launch the engines of the largest SpaceX rocket. So, experts tested the Raptor 2 engines of the first stage of the Booster 7 rocket.

We are talking about the Super Heavy Booster 7 rocket – the engines worked for 12 seconds, which is a record for SpaceX today. So, in total, 11 out of 33 engines worked, and no problems were found.

“A little more progress for the flight to Mars,” Elon Musk commented on the successful test.

However, in November, SpaceX already launched 14 Raptor 2 engines simultaneously, but only for a few seconds.

Musk’s future plans include running the engines for 20 seconds to test autogenous boost.

The company still has a lot of key testing to do before the Starship spacecraft goes to Mars.

Recall that Musk wanted to launch Starship into space in early 2022, but the US authorities did not give him permission to do so. After that, in the summer, a prototype Super Heavy rocket exploded during tests, and against this background, the launch had to be postponed.
